On November 3rd of this school year, Armuchee High School’s (AHS) Class of 2026 elected Emma Reed as AHS’s “Most Involved” senior girl. Outside of just sheer involvement, many of Emma’s peers sighted their reasoning behind this decision originating from her engagement within those activities, and her positive attitude. “As far a I know, there is nobody who is involved in more clubs, and works as hard in those clubs as Emma,” Krish Patel, senior, said. This opinion is further backed by Emma’s involvement within her clubs, engaging in many high, leadership positions. “I feel very thankful and grateful to the Armuchee community for seeing my involvement and thinking I was the most involved. It means a lot to me, and I feel like I work really hard, so it’s nice to see that being recognized,” Reed said, when asked for her thoughts on the matter.
At Armuchee, Emma holds a leadership position as the Key Club Secretary, president and national officer for the Engage Club, president of Family, Carrier, and Community Leaders of America, (FCCLA) and a representative for Student Leadership. Outside of purely leadership positions, Emma is also a member of the Chorus program, Future Business Leaders of America (FBLA), National Honor’s Society (NHS), the Literary Competition team, Thespian society, One Act, and the Drama program.
After Graduation, Emma plans to get a Bachelor of Science in English education from the University of Georgia and acquire her masters a year later and begin teaching high school English. A few of Emma’s peers cited her instructional potential as something they wished to be recognized. “[Emma] knows and talks to a lot of younger students, giving them advice as well as trying to get them involved in activities and clubs,” Alexander Yates, senior, said. When asked how her involvement has shaped her for the future, Emma said, “I think it’s made me better… because I see different types of people… And I feel like it’s grown me and shaped me to work hard [toward] my goals.” Emma’s advice to her underclassmen is to simply get involved. “Getting involved in a community, a sport, an extracurricular, it really opens the doors in your life to other people,” Reed said. Emma wishes for her lasting legacy at Armuchee to be one shaped by involvement and community.
