The valedictorian is a title given to those who are top of their class. This school year, Mannu Singh has been given the honor of being the class of 2026’s Valedictorian. Mannu said, “It’s truly an honor to represent the class of 2026. Being named as valedictorian not only demonstrates how much effort I put into my academics, but it also demonstrates that my peers can ask me for help regarding classes, career plans, or general advice.” Mannu is greatly honored to have been given the title of valedictorian. His hard work and dedication is showing in his title. His teacher, Mr. Little said, “Mannu prepares outside of the classroom so he can be prepared for inside the classroom” Mannu is hard-working and his title shows it. He worked extra-hard outside of class just to get where he is. Mannu’s kindness among his peers also helped him receive his title. His teacher, Mr. Little said, “Mannu works well by himself but also works well in groups. Mannu will help anyone who asks.” Mannu helps others and works well alongside his peers. His title is a representation of all of his work and characteristics together. His title shows how he is wise among his peers giving him the true characteristics of a valedictorian.
Mannu Singh followed a routine to help him reach this point. Mannu said, “I would get up at around 7:00 AM and then go to school, go to the gym, and then come back home to focus on my academics, and plan for future plans.” Even in his free time, he works hard to ensure academic success and a great future alongside it. Mannu also said, “Encouragement from friends. Anytime I felt down or upset, my friends would always provide advice for me if I ever needed it.” Encouragement helped him obtain this title without falling to exhaustion or depression. Another big thing Mannu mentions is, “Advice from family and teachers. This was a big one because without the support from my teachers and family, I wouldn’t have been able to access the variety of opportunities available at Armuchee.” Advice is a very important thing in life. It can be good or bad, and if good can prove vital information to your future. Mannu says, “There are two pieces of advice. My family also encouraged me to start early such as planning your course sequence, planning your summer, etc because then I can stay ahead from the rest of the class. The second part is that I had doubts if I could achieve something like this, but some of my teachers reminded me that whatever you believe, you can achieve.” These pieces of advice have affected his decision making skills and how he sees school, helping him become valedictorian.
Mannu’s title gives him a look into his bright future because of his academic abilities and his kindness towards people. Mannu is quoted as saying, “This will positively impact my future by helping me understand that there are always gonna be people out there who are willing to support you. You just have to be sure you can trust them and that you are willing to put in the work to succeed and network.” Which shows that Mannu mainly focuses on people that he can trust and that support him and the motivation they give him. When Mannu said, “and that you are willing to put up the work to succeed and network.” It shows that he was willing to put in the time and effort necessary to succeed in his academics while simultaneously keeping himself stable. Mannu’s journey will depend on these things when he goes through all the rings of post-high school life.
