This school year, Tori Vitello received the senior superlative for “Most Athletic” girl in Armuchee High School’s Class of 2026. Tori is widely respected among the school for not only her physical abilities, but also her academic motivation. “She’s very disciplined and whenever we’re on a bus ride or a late drive back home, she’s on her Chromebook doing work,” Sarah Beth Perry, Tori’s soccer teammate, said. It is not only during soccer that Tori displays this disciplined behavior; Kelsey Arp, Tori’s softball and Basketball teammate, said, “Tori’s just a competitive, hardworking person who always wants to do all above and beyond.” Many of Tori’s friends and teammates find her hardworking and competitive spirit to be motivating both on the field and in the classroom. “She has this intensity and drive about her that’s contagious to everyone around her, and it makes everyone around her better as well,” Perry said. Tori is so academically successful that many of her friends believe she has a high chance of being announced as the salutatorian this upcoming semester.
When asked about her sporting activities, Tori said, “I play softball, basketball, and soccer, and I played them all through high school and in middle school.” Outside of sports, Tori is involved in Academic Decathlon, National Honors Society (NHS), Future Business Leaders of America (FBLA), Spanish Honors Society, and Student Leadership. “[Tori is] always is multitasking, cause she has a job and she plays sports, and she’s in very smart classes, so she’s a really good multitasker,” After Graduation, Tori plans to go to Auburn or Embry-Riddle where she will pursue flight training to become a commercial pilot. After she leaves high school, Tori wishes to be remembered as a very hardworking and determined student in both her sports and academics. It is through balancing these different aspects of her life that Vitello’s team and classmates feel she is the best representation of the Class of 2026’s “Most Athletic.”
