Within Armuchee High School, the students are adjusting to a new principal and administration after the relocation of our previous principal, Rhodearmer. Within the two years of this new administration, many changes have been made, such as our school motto, sports, as well as other events such as our school pep rallies.. The administration has left people with differing opinions of our new school.
Students appreciate the community. A large majority stated they felt our school is concentrated around this community and the teachers in it. Jonas Ross, sophomore, “We have the nicest teachers “ We found a few of these teachers included Mrs. Ratledge, Dr. B, and Coach Decker. This shows the view from Armuchee’s students that we have a great community at our school. Our community is largely made of caring and supporting people such as Mr. Elliot. Mr. Elliot goes all out no matter what the day is, such as dressing up as an elf for christmas or an individual from history for his class.. After adding up the opinions of the students, our teachers are what make the community at our school.
We asked students for their opinions of our school as a facility. Many of the students interviewed mentioned our number of gym buildings and the quality of our sports facilities, especially our track and field. Conor Painter, Senior “Probably the track and field. Straight garbage.” said Painter. After asking Ross to expand on why, he mentioned the track and equipment our team uses is subpar. It is obvious from this statement that Armuchee as a school needs to improve its sports equipment, not only because it would help improve our school’s sports, but following through with this is the best way to improve our school as a whole. Improving small parts of our school will eventually increase the overall quality of Armuchee and our community. Even though we are not the best at football, our school is largely united by football. Everyone at Armuchee looks forward to the next football game, cheering on our team. We stick up for each other, the good of our community, and its objective.
As a school a large majority of decisions are made by the principal.Armuchee’s principal is Mr. Joseph Pethel, who took over the reins of the school in the 2022-23 school year. Pethel has made an impact on Armuchee’s students and the school. “He shows that he cares instead of being more reclusive like most principals I’ve had” For example saying hello, and giving fistbumps. This has left the students of armuchee with a positive view toward him.
