Tribefest T-Shirt Features AHS Artist

Senior, Levi Johnson’s design for the Tribe Fest shirt was chosen out of out of  95 designs submited to Mrs. Prince, the art teacher. ”What stood out to me the most in Levi’s design was the various line weights and the bold images. I think the teachers, staff, and the Community members of AGEF (Armuchee Glenwood Education Foundation) were also compelled to choose his design,” said Prince. The contest, held in August, is conducted by the Armuchee Glenwood Education Foundation which sponsors Tribe Fest, a community crafts fair and chorus concert. After Johnson found out he won, he said,“ I am very excited and proud that everyone will be wearing my design.” In Johnson’s design there is an Indian peeking over some hills; he used the hills of Rome as his inspiration for the design. Johnson brainstormed many ideas and finally narrowed it down to the design that won. He worked alone on this project because when it comes to art, he prefers to work alone. In art class Johnson enjoys working with pen and ink. Right now he is working on a project with a two point perspective. Johnson enjoys art and is working hard in class.
