Knowledge is a celebrated thing here at AHS, and is even recognized through the superlatives awarded to students. Eighth grader Chase Kennedy was awarded the superlative for “Most Likely to Win Jeopardy”. A superlative which Kennedy said he believes he received because of how his peers view him as smart. He said, “ A lot of people say I’m smart so I think that was a big part of why I was voted for this superlative.” Kennedy is taking honors classes at school and is a dedicated student, embodying the superlative he received in a way. Kennedy agreed that his superlative is an accurate representation of his personality. He said, “I know a lot of random facts and knowledge here and there and I think that represents my superlative.” Jeopardy is all about the random facts and testing contestants’ knowledge, so knowing random facts here and there is a strong trait to have when it comes to being most likely to win Jeopardy.
When the big day came to vote and find out who was awarded what superlative, Kennedy wasn’t surprised to find that he had been given this superlative. He said, “A lot of people while we were voting had told me that they were going to vote for me so I really wasn’t too surprised when I had won.” Even though Kennedy wasn’t surprised he was still proud of winning his superlative. Being told by his peers that they were for sure voting for him is a good indication that Kennedy deserved this superlative. When it comes to describing himself, Kennedy seems to have a similar view as those who voted him for this superlative. He said, “I think the two words that I would use to best describe me are definitely skilled and knowledgeable, so that’s a good fit with this superlative.” This superlative was made for Kennedy, congratulations on winning this superlative.
