October 4th, 2024 is the day of the homecoming football game. This is where freshman Aubrey Edwards and Jenna Taylor walk onto the football field, as the 2024 freshman homecoming court representatives of Armuchee High School. Being a part of homecoming court is an affair that not many people get the opportunity to experience, and one that many people won’t forget.
Jenna and Aubrey claim to both have been very excited about homecoming court. When it was announced that they would be Armuchee’s homecoming court representatives this year Aubrey said, “I did not expect to be chosen but I’m glad to get the opportunity.” When everyone just began to prepare for the homecoming dance, the representatives Aubrey and Jenna had to start planning their homecoming court attire as well. Jenna said, “The worst part about being on homecoming court is the expense of the dress we have to wear.” Aubrey Edwards agreed, that the dresses cost way more than what she wants to pay. However this doesn’t cover the fact that Homecoming is all around filled with fun times like, the football game, the food, hanging out with friends, and more. Aubrey and Jenna enjoyed all of these things along with the homecoming court experience. Aubrey said, “My favorite part about homecoming is that I get to eat candy and wear a pretty dress.” Jenna agreed with her that being able to wear a sparkly dress was her favorite part as well. Jenna’s dress was sparkly and purple with diamonds on the side.
As homecoming representatives Aubrey and Jenna plan to represent Armuchee with their personalities. They all shined brightly on the football field as they represented Armuchee. Freshman Adalyn Smith thinks Aubrey and Jenna really represent Armuchee. She said, “They are very kind, funny, and they are also cheerleaders which plays a big part in representing our school.” Freshman Kallie Geotz, who is also a member of the Armuchee cheer team with the representatives, said, “I’m on the Armuchee cheer team with Aubrey and Jenna, they’re really nice and I think they will do a great job representing Armuchee at homecoming.” Aubrey and Jenna seem to have many people who agree that they are great candidates to represent our class of 2028.
The night of the football game all of the candidates walked on the field with bright smiles on their faces, as they awaited to hear of the winners. Aubrey Edwards, Freshman, said, “It was very exciting seeing all the faces staring up at you as we walked out.” She wasn’t the only one who thought great things about that night. Freshman, Evey Flagello, said, “Aubrey and Jenna both looked pretty and I had a great time at the game.”
The few student’s who got elected as representatives this year were very lucky to be chosen by their peers. There are hundreds of people in each grade so being the few chosen has to feel amazing. Jenna the freshman representative said, “That will be a night I never forget.” As for their first time as freshmans, walking out onto the court, Aubrey and Jenna did a great job representing Armuchee for homecoming.
