In 2024, the 6th grade leadership at Armuchee has two class representatives. The 6th grade leadership teacher is Mrs. Ashley Burns, and the two class representatives are Gabriella Johnson and Emerson Wright. The 6th graders moved up to the high school this year. They are very excited to play a role in leadership positions to help out the school as much as they are able to. They only have class representatives and are still thrilled to be in leadership.
Gabriella Wright is one of the class representatives, and she said, “I am glad I can do something for the school”. Gabriella is very involved in the school as she is in cross country, chorus, and band. Gabriella is helping the school already. Gabriella said, “When I see trash on the tables, I throw it away. I also help wipe down the tables.” Being a part of leadership helps Gabriella feel like she is helping out the school, and makes her feel good about herself since she is going to have more responsibilities as class representative. When she found out that she won, she said, “I felt accomplished and glad that I would have more responsibilities.” Although Gabriella seems like she is a great fit for this position, as Mrs. Burns and Emerson have said, Gabriella still feels there could maybe be someone better in her place. “I’m probably not the best fit, there are better people in my class!” She is still very excited to be in leadership though, and everything they will do for the school this year. Gabriella said, “It’s been really fun!”
Emerson Wright is the second class representative for the 6th grade, and she said she is also really happy to be able to be class representative. She said, “I cried when I found out I got it.” Emerson had wanted to run for class representative because she believes she can contribute in making the school become a better place than it already is. She said, “The school just wants people to help clean, and make it a better place overall.” Emerson is also involved in the school other than as class representative, she does cheer. Emerson believes that she is a brilliant fit for class representative and is glad to be a part of leadership along with Gabriella. She said, “I help around, I am kind and sweet, which is better for the school. I think that me and Gabby (Gabriella) will definitely do okay.” Emerson is assisting students already. Emerson said, “I’ve helped students when they don’t understand their work.” She has enjoyed being a class representative so far and said, “I will definitely run for class president in the future!”
These two class representatives both get along exceptionally with each other, as they do with Mrs. Burns. Mrs. Burns, the leadership teacher for 6th grade, has said, “We work so well together, and are all so close. We are all really good friends.” She said, “They are great 6th grade representatives!” They are working on planning stuff for the school. Mrs. Burns said that, “We are very excited about being on this campus and being a part of leadership this year.” There’s no doubt our 6th grade leaders will work hard for their class this school year.
