Mrs. Barwick, who teaches physical science, is a new addition to the building, following the addition of the 6th grade students. She is always very friendly to her students and is liked by many. So far she has done a great job at teaching her students.
She came from Armuchee Elementary School where she was teaching 5th grade science. “My undergrad is in biology, and then when I switched over to teaching I taught science for a little bit in 5th grade. Then when the opportunity came open at the high school I just thought it would be great to get back in science,” said Mrs. Barwick. She is a hard working teacher and always makes sure her students understand the topic.
Despite being a new addition to Armuchee High School she has already taught her students very well and people already like her a lot. Will McCauley, one of Mrs. Barwicks students, said, “I like Mrs. Barwick because she is always a very nice person. She always helps us with our work. She makes sure we never struggle on whatever assignment we are working on.” Another student named Zesean Jackson said, “I like Mrs. Barwick because she always gives us good snacks and does a really good job on teaching science.” Many students really like her.
Being a teacher can be very difficult for some people. Mrs. Barwick is a very nice lady and hates to see other people hurt, whether they are hurt physically or mentally. Mrs. Barwick said, “The thing that bothers me the most is just how kids have to go through so much being so young and trying to grow and change and develop as people. I think that’s the hardest part of being a teacher, trying to reach all of the kids and encourage them, even though many have gone through a lot more than most kids.”
Mrs Barwick is a very kind and loving person and really only wants her students to treat each other with kindness even whenever it is tough to do so. She said, “I love just trying to impact kids to help them grow as people so that hopefully when they leave high school they will be more prepared just to be a good citizen and to be kind and loving towards other people.” Throughout her short time being a science teacher in the high school, she has already gotten many kids to like her, whether she’s just being herself or just helping her students with their work. Just like many teachers, she has made her room like how she likes it and how her students like it, too. She said, “I love my classroom because it feels very homey and calm and I enjoy decorating.” Mrs. Barwicks room is a very lively and comfortable place.
Overall Mrs. Barwick is a very kind and understanding person towards every person she meets. She teaches her class well and makes sure her classroom is a calm and comfortable place for her and her students. She’s always there to help and she is always very patient.
