As of the 2024-2025 school year, Mrs Coonley became the new bookkeeper for Armuchee High School. Mrs Coonley is excited to be working at Armuchee this year because she said it is a new challenge while she also gets to be around her older kids during their high school years. Mrs Coonley’s job before she started working at Armuchee was a Manager in Revenue Accounting at Norfolk Southern Railway. The hardest part of being a new staff member for Mrs Coonley is getting to know all of the other staff members and knowing their names, as well as getting to know some of the students. Her favorite part of the Armuchee community as she said is that, “We are one tribe, one family and the support of this community is nothing like I have seen before.” She loves the support we all have and that we all matter and no one is better than others.
Mrs. Coonley finds being a new staff member is difficult at times, she still keeps her hopes high for a great year. Coonley said, “Hopefully it’s a great year; it’s in the hands of the students and staff.” Mrs C oonley believes that we have an exceptional year if we all work together, and that together we can all have a great year.
Mrs Coonley’s job throughout the day consists of doing paper work and working on the computer for the majority, while also going to the bank at least once a week. Sitting at her desk for most of the day can get boring so snacking on things throughout the day can be useful. Mrs Coonley likes to snack on Spicy Dill Pickle goldfish, and roasted salted almonds. Mrs Coonley says she likes to start off her day on her knees in prayer. She is a christian and likes to begin a good morning with Jesus. Mrs Coonley works with a lot of numbers during the day, like the money for school sports and supplies for the school. She says her favorite thing about being the bookkeeper is operating with numbers saying, “I work very well with numbers and enjoy doing it more than other things.”
In addition to being a new member of the Armuchee Tribe, Coonley has 5 kids and 3 of them are in the Armuchee community. She loves to support them by attending both her daughters’ cheer competitions and tennis matches. She claims her hobbies are supporting her children in all activities like composition cheer, and tennis, and any types of school events with her youngest daughter. In addition to these hobbies, she said “I also like to watch college football.”
Mrs Coonley plays an important role in our school by making sure everything is in line and information is correct and getting what the teachers and coaches need. Her goal for the school year is to maintain a balanced spreadsheet for both the High and Middle school. Having to do middle and high school for Mrs. Coonley “can be very stressful to make sure you have everything for both.” Mrs. Coonley’s main focus is what’s best for our school. Coonley, out of school, likes to enjoy nature, telling us how she likes to “Sit outside and enjoy nature. I like to sit out on my front porch in the morning and enjoy my coffee. I also like to watch my youngest daughter swim in our pool while sitting outside.”
Being a new staff member at a school can be very frustrating and stressful, trying to make sure you are doing everything right and getting to know people. Mrs. Santos is one of the staff members that works in the front office. She contributes a lot to the school and is known by many people. Mes. Santos thinks that Mrs. Coonley is a great addition to the community she said “Because she is fair, hardworking, and efficient at her job. She clearly loves the community because of the way she shows kindness and love by the students and staff alike.” It is good to have other staff members to help with things Mrs. Coonley might not know, and to be supportive. Other members in the office like having Mrs. Coonley as our new bookkeeper, and Armuchee welcomes her for this new school year.
