Julian Alvarez, senior, has an internship at the Georgia Family Dental Office, where he has learned the ways of being a dentist. He said, “I have learned what a normal day is for a dentist and the fun and hard work that comes with it. I have learned how to do simple procedures and how to
assist the dentist.” Julian has learned how to assist with root canals, extractions, implants, and crowns. He has also learned the proper way to clean equipment and rooms.
Julian has personal qualities and characteristics that lead him towards becoming the successful dentist he aspires to become. He said, “I am good at talking to people, and I am personable. I enjoy solving critical problems and sticking to a plan. I also have steady hands and feel confident in my abilities.” Julian has a close relationship with Dr. Drescher, a kind man that has gotten Julian to feel confident in his abilities to become a dentist. He said, “Dr. Drescher is my role model. He has excellent bedside manner with his patients. He always tries to find the best option/ plan for the patient and inspires me daily.”
Julian has attended Armuchee schools for nearly all of his life. He said, “I went to West End for pre-k then moved to Armuchee for kindergarten and have been part of Armuchee schools ever since!”
After Julian graduates, he hopes to attend the University of Georgia and major in Biology, and either personal finance or business. After he gets his degree at UGA, Julian has hopes to attend Augusta University for his dental education. His desire for the future is to become a very successful General Dentist at Georgia Family Dental Office. He said, “I plan on working at the place where I am interning. Now, Georgia Family Dentist just purchased an office in Armuchee, and I would love to be the lead dentist there.”
