Senior Lily Watson was crowned by Abby Mathis, Armuchee Graduate, for the title of Miss Armuchee in May of 2017. Watson will crown the new Miss Armuchee in May of 2018.

This was Watson’s first pageant in which she has been a contestant. Watson wanted to be a part of this event  to be a part of the community. She worked hard on learning her dance to “Classic” by MKTO. “I picked this song because It was very upbeat and fun, and I thought it really portrayed my personality,” Watson said. Her favorite part of the whole pageant was the question that she was asked because she got to speak her true feelings for the school and community.  Watson prepared for her question by studying and practicing the handout Mrs. Flagello gave her. Watson said, “The reason the question was my favorite part was I got to talk about my love for Armuchee.”  When she was awarded the crown, she was really excited, happy, and very appreciative that she had earned this reward. “I was just being myself on stage,” Watson said.

As the new Miss Armuchee, Watson would love to see the Armuchee community have more school spirit and work together as a Tribe to support one another. Watson said, “I myself will participate in athletics and other school-wide events, hoping others will follow my lead.” Watson plays varsity softball for the 2017 season, she is one of the six seniors on the team. “ I love to cheer on my tribe,” Watson said. She encourages the juniors to do this pageant because it helps support the tribe and gets the community involved.
