The Mr. and Miss Armuchee pageant took place in May of the 2018 school year. In previous years there was only a Miss Armuchee, but this year there was a Mr. Armuchee as well. Miss Armuchee 2018 was senior Brynlea Hall. On winning Brynlea said, “I was shocked, but so proud of myself. There were so many beautiful and smart girls against me. I texted my mom backstage saying I was sure I lost. But, I guess the judges thought differently! It’s still a shock to me that I won.”

Being Miss Armuchee comes with not only representing the community, but also giving back to the community. “All of the girl pageant winners in Floyd County will be doing a lot of community work together through the year. You have to give back to the community because it is definitely a privilege.”

To anyone hoping to enter the pageant in the future Brynlea said, “It may sound scary walking on that stage in front of everyone but, getting to do something out of your comfort zone with the boys and girls in your grade is a memory you’ll keep forever. Know the answers to the questions you may be asked and always make eye contact with those judges! Don’t be scared. Just smile and have fun.”

Mr. Armuchee 2018 was senior Jacob Stanley. He was the first winner of this contest. Since 2018 was the first year a Mr. Armuchee pageant was held, it didn’t have anything to be compared to, but everyone involved in it did a great job.
